I'm so happy you liked it, and that it managed to hit so many points you'd wanted to see!

Cranky Edmund is my very favorite Edmund - I think that even though he obviously matured and changed a lot from the horrible child he was when they first found Narnia, a little of that stubborn, curmudgeonly nature must have stayed with him. I love writing him (and Susan!), so I'm glad they both felt real and worked so well for you. That line you liked, about Susan falling in love with things she can't hold onto, was kind of a last minute addition; I liked the way it tied up both her rejection of Narnia and her (canonical, if you're just looking at Rabadash) poor choice in men, as though she purposefully chooses badly so that she won't fall in love, so that she can't be hurt, because she feels that need to emotionally guard herself, especially after the return from Narnia. And the bit about she and Ed looking so alike - yes, I love that too! That's why there were so many mentions of Edmund's facial hair, as though Susan had made him grow it in because it made them look less alike, and the whole thing between them was confused and fraught enough already without them looking like twins.

Clearly I have a lot of feelings about them! But just as clearly, I loved writing this and again, I'm so happy you enjoyed it too. Thanks for making a perfect request!
