The imagery you employ flows wonderfully and I love how there's a difference between the way Calormen is described (everything rich and languid and exotic) and the way England is described (so straightforward and cold, almost). The feelings and senses you convey with words are simply beautiful.

AND-AND-AND. JADIS. Oh my goodness, Jadis and how she is EVERYWHERE. That's one of my favorite ideas about her, how she is everywhere and haunting Edmund continuously, and just YES. Thank you for including that. And then the connection with "The Hollow Men"! YEEK. I absolutely love "The Hollow Men," and that repeated "falls the shadow" line is so, so perfect for this.
