You know the saying about how a great nation cannot be taken unless it allows itself to be. Even Narnia becomes corrupted--at a much slower rate than most human kingdoms, but eventually. It was Heverus's great story that first made me think of Narnians chopping down the tree themselves, and I started seeing it as a sort of Narnian Fall after reading one of Rose & Psyche's pieces.
Lucy and her dragon have been bouncing around in my head for awhile, and the winged horses got to come because they're pretty and they needed a fancy escort. :-D
