With Royal Beauty Bright, for Snacky.

With Royal Beauty Bright, for [livejournal.com profile] snacky.

Caspian, fearing his new bride would be homesick, gave her the best of Christmases: feasting in Trufflehunter's sett; gift-giving in Trumpkin's hall; and decorating a plump fir in Cair Paravel's gardens (to its dryad's delight).

Then, at midnight on Christmas Eve, Lilliandil woke him. "My relatives have arrived." And she opened the window. "Merry Christmas, beloved."

Silvery light poured in, and with it a song of crystalline purity. For a moment, Caspian was confused. Then he gazed up at the heavens and understood.

Wrapping his arm about her, he watched as the stars danced and the sky caroled with joy.

Something holiday themed! I'd love it if Caspian or Rilian (or both!) were involved.

Beautiful. A beautiful use of the themes of light and stars for the season and a wonderful reminder of her own heritage. This is also a terrific companion piece to Snacky's own Sing Down The Stars. I can so easily see how once Rilian is born, his mother will repeat this wondrous gift for her son as well.
