Good news! Matching went very quickly this year, so the assignments have been sent out. This gives you an EXTRA WEEK to write! :D

Everyone matched on at least one character or group; some people matched on multiple. If you have not received an assignment, please let me know!

If you have letters, please remember to link in the Letters post!

Have fun writing! Remember that your story is due any time before Saturday, August 29th at midnight ET. The requests are all open so you are free to write any treats you'd like. There is no treats/madness collection this year, so you should post to the main collection.

NFE 2019: Matching in progress

Hello everyone!

I've reopened signups so a few people can edit theirs, to help with matching. Once that's done, I'll run matching, and see where we are.

Assignments sent!

Okay, I've doublechecked everything, and it all looks good, so I'm sending out assignments. Watch your email!

If, when you get your assignment, you find that you did not offer anything your match requested, let me know right away and I will try to fix things.

Remember in this exchange, you match on characters first, then relationships and freeform tags. Sometimes the match is only made with one character requested/offered. Often multiple offers and requests match (the nature of this being a small fandom exchange), so I encourage you to mix and match from your assignment if you'd like.

Assignments update

Hey everyone!

I've been working with AO3, and it looks like the issue is fixed, yay! I've run matching and generated assignments, and right now I'm just doing a check to make sure everyone is matched correctly (sorry, the glitch made me paranoid). Assignments will either be out tonight, or Tuesday morning, if all is well.

Issues with matching/assignments

Hello all!

Quick update on assignments: we seem to have run into some kind of AO3 glitch which is causing a problem with generating assignments. Basically, it's been generating assignments for three days, which is a LONG time for such a small exchange. In past years it's taken about 20 minutes.

I've submitted a support request to AO3, so hopefully they get back to me soon. Plan B is to do hand-matching, which I have done in the past (as long-time participants know :D).

As soon as I have information from AO3, I will post an update. If it looks like it will be hand-matching, I will let you know when I start that, and give an estimate of how long I think that will take.

Sorry about the delay! I will keep you all posted.

Yes, finally! Well, still a few days early, but finally to me, since I've been wrestling with them since Sunday. :D

Anyway, you should all have your assigned recipient. If you have not received an email, let me know ASAP, and I'll figure out what went wrong. Remember, your story is due any time before August 31st, at midnight.

Assignments update!

Hello everyone! I'm generating the assignments, and have run into a problem with AO3. I sent in a support ticket, and as soon as we get this issue corrected, I'll be sending out the assignments. Hopefully even by tonight, which will give you extra writing time!

Hello everyone! Sorry for the delay in assignments, but I've had a nasty bug.

You should all have received your assignments - remember, you have been matched on at least one thing you offered/your recipient requested, not all offers/requests.

I don't know if there's any interest in a Madness Round this year, but I will put up a poll tomorrow, and if people would like it, we can have it during the week between assignments due, and the reveal.
