The ending actually made me cry a couple of tears. No idea why, but to imagine how it would be to hear that your dear friends and powerful monarchs and allies are gone must be simply horrible.
I loved Lune's wife. She seems so cool. And Corin! Dear Corin. Lune was written brilliantly! I really, really enjoyed reading this. All of it is just awesome. Specially Lune's advice to go to Calormen. I always imagined that Rabadash invited them, but that it was a willing choice done by Susan makes it a bit more interesting I think.
