Digory thought this story was missing a few details.

I honestly laughed long and hard at that one! But this story is anything but...a fantastic piece, so original, and the Cottingley Fairies tie-in was brilliant.

Also:

“There are probably people that would go, just to escape their lives. But if they care enough to leave, they care enough to change things here. Maybe that’s why we don’t have the ability to visit other worlds already, because we need to make this one worth living in, first.”

This bit kills me. Polly is so very wise, and this is a lesson for the ages--that it's so easy to escape troubles, but in the long haul, it's more beneficial to face them instead.

And for not being "shippy" as the prompt asked it not to be, it certainly was romantic. If that makes any sense.

It was equally melancholic as it was funny, which added up to a very beautiful story. Thank you for writing this!
