I loved the details in this--Susan born by the sea and two months early, the vacation in America not being a vacation, the way that one can never remember just how an argument started or who said what. I was really touched by the idea that Susan couldn't bear the thought of Eustace and Jill going and never being able to return, because then it would really be over, the last link to Narnia would be gone, and there would be only eight persons growing old.
I could *feel* the tide ebbing and pulling throughout this piece, and I think the sea a far better motif for Susan than for Lucy, because the sea is gray. It gives life, and it also destroys. I've never seen Susan tied to the sea before, but it fits very well. Good job.
