This is amazing! I like how you have made Ned an understandable character, if not exactly sympathetic, and the way even through his POV it's obvious that what the pirate crew have done to the islanders is reprehensible in all kinds of ways. I am very impressed by the strength and practicality of the women, and also that they're the ones who save the nearly useless men when the captain tries to hunt them down. In the second part, I like how Noelani balances between her parents' cultures, which are clearly still distinct though presumably in the process of melding, and how she and Caspian seem to see each other as equal partners in their adventure. And the idea of Talking Elephants in the Western Wild, telling stories of Narnia to strangers newly arrived in their world, is lovely. It makes me wonder if this first contact is what, years later, led some of the Telmarines east in search of Narnia rather than some other country.
