That is the best thunderstorm mythology, and I would like to adopt it for my own, take it home, and call it George. :-) Also, I really love the way Helen had resigned herself to not having a large family and then finds herself with a whole country for her children. Her thoughts about Mary Walker, and the way the Beasts and Beings both are and aren't similar, are intriguing -- they give a hint of her previous life that helps make her feel like a solid, real person. I also like that she wonders about Narnian weather, which may or may not be the same as England's weather. And this line -- "The cave was so silent, no one twitched so much as a feather." -- is particularly nice, for the way it makes it clear that the Narnians are very definitely people, and equally definitely not humans.
