This is beautifully, exquisitely, subtly written! I am blown away by how beautiful it is, by how light the touch is (of the writing) by the clarity, and most of all by how moving it is. The whole story feels like an elegy, a lament for the impossibility of things, and most of all for division. IT sends my mind off in all sorts of directions. -- Toru Takemitsu, Requiem for Strings? Also of course, the solidity and reality and humour, and wonderful, wonderful Bolger (great name!)
