GUYS THIS IS IMPORTANT!

If you are uploading your story, you need to make sure you post it to the NFE collection, and not just to your own account, or it will be live.

You can post your story by going to Assignments (which you will find in the left sidebar or up at the top right of AO3 where it says Hi [your name], hover over that and you will find "My Assignments" in the dropdown). In your assignments, you will find your NFE 2018 assignment. You can click on "fulfill" and upload your story.

IF you just do "Post --> New Work" at the right top of AO3, you have to check the box for NFE 2018 when uploading the story. Screenshot:

If you don't click that box, you're just uploading to your AO3 account and your recipient will get an email, as the story is live. If you've already uploaded your story, please check to make sure you didn't do this, and delete/repost if necessary.

If you're not sure, just email me and I'll let you know if your story is in the collection or not.

Thank you!

Hi Folks!

I hope the writing is going well for everyone, and I just wanted to apologize for the silence on my end. Strangely, I seem to get ill every year around this time, and have had surgery for the past three years in the fall. This year I have a biopsy on Monday, and possible surgery again!

I wonder if the universe is trying to tell me to change the timing of the NFE. :D

In any case, that is why I haven't been around much. But I have updates!

First, the NFE 2018 Madness collection is open and you'll find it here:

https://archiveofourown.org/collections/NFE_Madness_2018

For Madness this year, as it's the 10th Anniversary of the NFE, you will be able to choose from all the prompts in all the years the NFE has been on AO3. To view the prompts, go to the NFE subcollections page here:

https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Narnia_Fic_Exchange/collections

Click on the year you want to view, and in the left sidebar, click "Requests Summary" to see all the prompts.

There is one other part to NFE Madness this year: you must include the number "10" in your story in some way. Any way is fine! Be creative! Include ten talking Rabbits! Ten different meals prepared by dwarfs! Ten sentences of Narnia fic (based off the prompt you choose). It's all good.

Thank you to everyone who offered ideas for this Madness round!

So please, take part in NFE Madness this year. Invite a friend! Invite all your friends! Anyone who loves Narnia and wants to write a fic can participate.

Second, an updated schedule!

Due to a few things (AO3 problems with the assignments, delayed Madness opening, and some requests for extensions), we're giving you extra time to write. Here's the new schedule:

Main collection fics due: anytime before midnight on September 22nd
Prompts Revealed/Madness: September 6th - September 30th
Pinch-hit period: September 23rd - September 29th
Both collections opens: September 30th (You will have a one hour warning before the collections open)
Authors revealed: October 7th

Okay? I hope you're all excited to browse through the past years' prompts and pick ones that catch your eye! Please comment here with any questions, or email narniaficexchange@gmail.com

Thank you all for participating in the NFE!

Hello all! Just a quick update to say that the NFE will happen this year, we're just a little late getting started.

ALSO! It's the Tenth Anniversary of the Narnia Fic Exchange! Which is exciting (at least to me :D)! I've been trying to think of something fun to mark the occasion, and I am open to suggestions! Honestly, what I'd love is for everyone to convince a friend to join us this year -- make it a big exchange for the big birthday! What do you all think?

Anyway, I'm hoping to have information about tagsets, signups, etc, up by tomorrow evening. In the meantime, please comment here, or email narniaficexchange@gmail.com if you have any questions/comments/ideas.

Thanks to everyone who has asked about this years' exchange -- it makes me happy to know so many of you look forward to it.
