This is beautiful. (I'm sorry I hadn't seen this before, I just don't, um, actually use my flist, so I'd forgotten to check.)
There's a real sense of Edmund's age here, of his presence as King Edmund of Narnia, not just Edmund Pevensie, and the weight of all the years that have come before. Caspian is younger than him; Caspian is a rookie and Edmund (and Peter, and Susan, and Lucy) are jaded old-timers, veterans.
And, of course, being a Peter girl, I have to cheer at the mention of Caspian (always, always) being uncomfortable around Peter. Because of course.
