Tagset!
Info about the tagset (thank you,
aurilly!):
Freeform Tags & Glossary!
THINGS OF NOTE:
1) This is discussed in the tagset post, but just a reminder: you no longer can request "any." That was leading to problems with matching, and
aurilly has made the tags more specific for this reason. However, you can still offer "any", but only offer it if you're open to really writing anyone/thing.
2) Remember, if you have multiple prompts, you can make multiple (up to five) requests! All your prompts don't have to be in one request. I am mentioning this because last year some people's prompts had more characters than they had requested, because you can only request five characters per request. But if you make more than one request, you can request more characters.
Also, if you are requesting relationships, make sure to request those characters as well! The matching will be done by characters first! If you haven't requested those characters, but want them in a relationship, you're unlikely to be matched on those.
( Here is an example of how multiple requests would look... )
So you can see I had five prompts, so I made five requests. I was able to request more than five characters, because I used the multiple requests. I also requested relationships, AND the characters involved in those relationships.
3) People usually ask about how matching works. Basically, the matching is done on character (first, then relationship/freeform), so you're guaranteed to match on at least one of the characters you offered. So if you've offered Aravis in offer 1, and Zardeenah in offer 2, the person you'll be matched with will have requested at least one of those characters.
What often happens is that your recipient might have made request 1 with Aravis, and you offered Aravis in offer 1, so that's what you matched on. But if they've also requested Zardeenah in another request, and you offered her in another offer, then you're certainly free (and encouraged) to use all the other character in your story (unless your recip says something like "DNW a story with these two characters).
Because this is a small single fandom exchange, what tends to happen is that people are matched on one offer/request, but will also mix and match from the other requests. This is fine, and is encouraged (unless there's a specific DNW) if you want to use all the requests as inspiration!
ALSO: still considering what we're going to do for the Tenth Anniversary of the NFE! It will be tied with Madness prompts, so stay tuned for updates.
