Every single moment of this was just everything that Narnia should be and everything a story should be. I'm all over sad and happy right now, because, oh, because it was perfect, and it's over, and because life in our world isn't as it is in Narnia. Because of Peter and Susan and their struggle to become something that they want to be, know they can be, but aren't yet. Because of Edmund and Lucy, growing up and into Narnia. Because of all of their wisdom and strength and joy and beauty. Because of LUCY, and SISTERS, and Dalia and Lambert and Merle and Morgan and Aidan and the revel and the little Beasts pantomiming the Creation, and Pomona and Epona and the lake goddess and Xucoatl and Black-eyed Susan and Edmund the Just and just absolutely everything about this is heartwrenching in its sincerity and wonder and awe.
But my absolute favorite thing about it is the sense in the Great Bonding that, while it's wholly serious and important and not to be made light of, it's FUN and joyous. The Narnians all very much expect their kings and queens to succeed and even more, to excel, and that sense of acceptance and confidence just adds yet another dimension of sublime beauty to this amazing, amazing story.
