In Narnia, they grew. Susan’s dark hair fell below her knees in glorious waves and ambassadors arrived for her hand. Even in this, Susan was gentle, graciously turning away rhapsodies over lush lips and long hair.

With Prince Rabadash, she was not so gentle. At first, she was intrigued by the flowing robes and wooden shoes – everything tinged with gilt. She dreamed of the desert and to travel in its hot, hot heat, her long locks tied into a turban. But their peace had always been uneasy, and with the invasion of Archenland, Susan knew what she had to do.
Original Prompt:

Any of the following: Susan, Lucy, Polly, Aravis, Rilian, Jill, rare characters, travel, world building, new experiences.

A very nice effort to get at Susan's varying duties and dichotomies and to try to explain the strangeness of her behavior in HHB. thank you so much for this well written character study!

Oh, I really like this! How cool to see what Susan was thinking with Rabadash.

This is wonderful - very subtle, and yet a very detailed examination of Susan's character. I particularly like that you try to get into her head when it comes to Rabadash, since we get so very little explanation for that in HHB. Thank you!
