A wonderful story. I loved this so much. Reep is wonderfully drawn and I especially appreciate how his romantic ideal changes over time to conform to the woman and Queen that Susan is. And when he finally sees Queen Susan - well. She is not the delicate Gentle Queen he had imagined - she is a Queen who is brave and strong, a Queen who can fight for herself, and take charge, and lead armies into battle. This is not a Queen who needs Reepicheep's protection, but he knows that this is a Queen who needs a Knight by her side. I love them both in this, just to pieces. When she finally knights him, it is a dream come true but it is so grounded in the reality of who she really is and what Reep slowly becomes -- a much, much wiser Mouse. Also, surely she feels a special bond with Mice having been at the Table.
