Flails!! Thank you so much for this. You wrote every character so perfectly!! I love how you wrote the sibling relationship in this, especially the glimpse of Susan and Lucy and Lucy and Edmund throughout (especially this: In her eyes he read courage, trust, faith in him to the bitter end. They spoke to him as no words could.). Somehow I find it refreshing that Susan doesn’t throw a big fuss about Lucy going into battle but even encourages her! Corin sneaking into the army is so perfect!
I love the subtle bits of Narnian characteristics like Animals thinking human all look alike, even well-meaning Giants can be careless about stepping on people, Shasta’s accent. Edmund’s fear and anger at the end of the battle when he finds out Corin has pulled Cor in the battle as well was wonderfully done and my heart couldn’t help but jump with Edmund’s as well even though we know the end.
Poetic license! Hah!
"By the Mane, woman, count some Sheep. Silently," he ordered. Snarky Edmund...how I love you.
it was many a proud soldier who would later tell their daughters and sons of the day King Edmund looked them in the eye and found them worthy. Wow. Just wow. There’s been subtle mentions throughout of Edmund as a king in his own right but this just sums it all up so beautifully.
Eustace and Jill squabbling throughout was so funny and so *them*, especially the jab about being pushed off a cliff.
Thank you again, mystery writer! I love it! -Ruan Chun Xian
