Come winter, Lucy wonders about Father Christmas. "Do you think he'll bring gifts this year?" She and Edmund talk wistfully of tree trimming, and plum pudding. Peter and Susan overhear mention of toys, and are reminded how young their brother and sister still are, despite having ruled Narnia for a year. Peter, recalling last year's Gifts, hopes they won't be disappointed. But Susan remembers - before - back there - home - the family ritual of writing to Father Christmas. So one night over cocoa, they all write letters and feed them to the fire, then watch as the ashes carry their wishes away.

Original Prompt: Just about anything - something Christmassy, something happy. I don't mind incest pairings, so Peter/Susan is good (or other sibling-like permutations). I don't mind angst or drama, but I prefer to write happier or funnier things.

Oh, this is so sweet. I especially like how the Christmas season puts Lucy and Edmund right back into the mindset of wanting toys, cause they really were so very young that first year, weren't they? And the bit with the fire! So pretty.

This is just gorgeous. I love that you've set it in that early part of the Golden Age, those few years where they might have remembered England and all the things they had done back home for the holidays. The tradition of writing to Father Christmas, and the imagery of the fire carrying their wishes up to him, is so beautiful. I also love that Susan and Peter, like the elder siblings they are, try to make Christmas happy for their siblings. Thank you so much for sharing this.
