Making a list, checking it twice! Twice and thrice and many times again. There were so many visits to keep track of! He's gonna find out who's naughty or nice! Catchy tune, Father Christmas thought to himself. Foolish humans, though. As though he set himself up to arbitrate every soul's behaviour. Why, if he had to watch everyone for signs of wrong-doing, he'd have no time to make gifts! nor anyone to gift, for that matter. No, no, wishes were the thing. Wishes and need and good hearty cheer. His task, as it always was, is to bring joy.
Original prompt:

Something Christmas-y! Some prompts below, but write whatever makes you happy and fits into a drabble!

  • Father Christmas preparing for his night
  • Celebrating in other lands
  • Caspian's first Christmas as King (assuming it wasn't celebrated under Miraz)
  • Christmas in hiding (during Telmarine rule)
  • Narnian Christmas bedtime stories
  • Is Father Christmas the same in Narnia as in England? (however you wish to interpret this question)
  • Is Christmas celebrated in Aslan's Country (pre- or post-LB)?

This is delightful. I love the gentle remonstrance that Father Christmas is to busy giving joy and making gifts to worry about every little wrong and slight! This is very fun!

Loved this look at Santa -- he may be jolly and brings joy to the world but he's also very practical. :-)

::SNERK:: I absolutely adored your use of that song - it's really a didactic guilt trip to get kids to behave around Christmastime or else they won't get any presents. Father Christmas's scorn for this approach was hilarious. That's just not his job...bringing shiny beautiful things to play with is! :D

Lovely picture of Father Christmas -- humming along with the song, but really focussed on the important stuff, i.e. giving joy.

Thank you, Song! This was wonderful and exactly what I was hoping for! I'm sorry that I've taken so long to thank you properly, but I'm no less delighted. I loved this little glimpse of Father Christmas preparing for his night's work, and the addition of the song was a fantastic choice. Thanks again!
