Yes, another reminder, I'm full of them today.

Please do not discuss the stories and who is writing for whom. Of course you'll talk about it with your betas, but aside from that, please, try to keep it to yourself! That's part of the fun.

And if you know who is writing for what story for which person, please keep that to yourself, and don't spread it around.

If people are tired of the anonymous aspect of the exchange, we can change that next year, but for this round, please keep it to yourselves.

I like having the authors be anonymous, but I think I'd like to know who I'm writing for. If nothing else, it would make finding a beta reader a lot easier. I had to turn to people who don't really know the canon for my beta readers.

Good to know! I only had four people vote for that in the poll, but the neutral votes could go either way.

Because of the way the voting went, this is what I'm considering:

1) Allowing people to note on their sign-up whether they prefer to know who they're writing for, so making it opt-in. So the people who want to know can (although I would ask that they keep this information to themselves, as in exchanges like Yuletide), and the people who want to the whole thing to be anonymous can go that way.

Or

2) Making it so that everyone knows who they are writing for. This is the way the NFE started, and I think Caramelsilver changed it to be double-blind just for fun, so when I took over modding for her, I kept it that way. But there's no reason not to give it a try the other way.

I was also planning to move the exchange to AO3 next year, so what I decide will be based on how easy it is to do within their system, I admit.

For the beta, I know the point is moot now, but you can always check with me if you have people who are also participating in the Exchange in mind.

I think the best compromise is obviously option 1 of opting in. But I guess as you say, moving to AO3 means it depends on what the options there are.

Yeah, I was leaning to option 1 myself! But I am still exploring AO3, and that is the one thing I am not sure if I can do there yet.
